Some things are just meant to be, while others rush through our lives
with the bittersweet longing of youth. At age nineteen, Nadine Stone
thought her summer fling with Michael Greene was meant to last a
lifetime, the kind of instant love that is sure and solid. When family
tragedy strikes, she is torn from the world she so dearly loved and
loses contact with the boy that she lost her heart to. She wanders
through life for many years, wondering if the only choice she has left
is to settle for the next best thing. Though she's come to love her life,
there's something missing and it takes her coming full circle under a
blue moon to find what her heart has been crying out for.
This was a riveting story from start to finish-then I went back and
read it again! Author Gold deftly uses first point of view to delve
deep into our heroine, connecting the reader in way that nb other
point of view allows. We are literally walking every step ofNadine'_
emotions and inner turmoil, a very interesting way to connect and
look at the story. Gold's subtle wit and poignant writing is not to be
missed. Look for her story in the anthology "Blue Moon Enchantment':
and be sure to pick up the first in the series, "Blue Moon Mag:ic" as
well. Bravo. Ms. Gold. for a touching and entertaining read!

4.5 STARS!
***** This is the second book in the Blue Moon anthology series. The
first, titled "Blue Moon Magic", was released only a few months ago
and is still selling wildly. I predict that this companion book will do
as well. Short stories are even harder to write than full length novels
and this anthology has FIFTEEN magical tales by various authors. If
you want some sweet dreams, read one of two of these stories just
before bed. Terrific! *****

EXCERPT FROM
Beneath the Velvet Blue Moon
"Which star do you want to wish on, Nadine?" Father asked as we
leaned against the railing, gazing up at the brilliant star-studded
summer sky.
I pointed to the brightest star and we each made a wish.
Sometimes when they were two full moons one month- a Blue
Moon- which happened approximately every two and a half years,
we made special wishes. All my wishes were special to me, for I
always wish for a handsome Prince to calm and sweep me off my
feet.
However, I was willing to wait until I grew up.
One beautiful summer's night in early August, Michael and I
walked along the lake holding hands. We stopped by the rail
where my father and I had made our wishes when I was a child. A
gentle breeze ruffled his hair as he smiled down at me. I smiled
back at him. He drew me close and covered my mouth with his.
Then he turned to look at the full moon.
"Look, Nadine, it's a Blue Moon."
"My father told me that anything you wished for under a Blue
Moon always came true," I said.
"Always?" he asked with the mischievous little smile I found
adorable.
"That's what he said."
"Then let's make wishes." His eyes were like emeralds, twinkling
in the moonlight.
We closed our eyes and made wishes. I wished to be with Michael
forever. Since you couldn't tell anyone your wish or it wouldn't
come true, I didn't know what he'd wished for, but by the look on
his face I had a pretty good idea.
"Promise, Nadinepromise me on that Blue Moon that you'll meet
me here next year."
"I promise," I said.
Then, under that magnificent moon, we sealed our pledge to meet
with a kiss. If I could have put that moment into a bottle and
saved it forever, I would have. I had been granted my childhood
wish. My handsome prince stood there before me. And no matter
what, I knew with all my heart I would always love Michael.
